It's that Heads Up Halifax time of the year again. This unofficial and uncensored video series brings you the real reasons why our crosswalks are so unsafe. Why do pedestrians keep getting hit on crosswalks? Is it because they're immersed in cellphones, or are crosswalks deadly by design? Martyn Williams looks at why signalized intersections are by far our most deadly crosswalk location, accounting for around 40% of incidents where pedestrians are hit. Are  pedestrians safe if they start walking legally while the walk sign is on and keep their "heads up"? Spoiler: No! So what can be done to make them safe for use?
